The majority of tyres have a Service Description consisting of a Load Index
(or two load indices in the case of single / dual fitments, and a speed symbol).
The load index is a numerical code associated with the maximum load a tyre can
carry at the speed indicated by its speed symbol* under service conditions specified.
by the tyre manufacturer.
Example Service Description: 91H
91 = Load Index (see table below)
(maximum load per tyre in this case = 615 kg)
H = Speed Symbol*
(H equates to a maximum speed of approximately 131 mph).
